About Home Service Nerds
Behind every great accomplishment...
you’re sure to find a Nerd.
Home Service Nerds didn’t start by accident, but we did sort of stumble into it.
As first- and second-generation tradesmen, we knew the power of the trades industries to American culture and society…
and we also knew the typical perception of the trades industry…
which we wanted to change and let the general public know how great these every-day servicers can be.
Before we knew it, we were a veteran-owned, family-operated, and operated business in the Upstate, with a skillset that allowed us to grow quickly and capitalize on decades of expertise, problem solving capabilities, and skill.
But our focus is much bigger than our own bottom line.
Building Relationships to Build Community
It’s on making sure that our customers and local homeowners have the information they need to make the right decisions for their home,
and to have someone they trust in their corner to help them when something goes wrong.
We know that providing education and listening to homeowner’s needs is the only way to achieve a long-lasting relationships,
and we aim to do just that,
allowing our customers to spend less time worrying about the temperature, and more time doing the things that are important.
Our Mission
To offer comfort and peace of mind through quality, consistency and integrity while maintaining, servicing, or replacing your home systems.
What People are Saying
We know we’ve got something worth talking about, but you don’t have to take our word for it! Just take a look at some of the reviews that real homeowners have left about their relationship with Home Service Nerds.
Thank you!
I like to do research before I get quotes on a job to prepare questions and educate myself to at least the basics. It helps me understand what a tech may say, but also to test the tech's knowledge. I didn't get any "BS" answers from Zach. If he knew, he told me. If he didn't, he got the answer or followed up.
Zach and the Company's customer service (a call to make the appt and text/email on behalf of technician for certain things) was fantastic. It's not even anything "special" that they did. It was simply the honesty, responsiveness, and respect that you expect from a small business (and don't get at all from corporate owned/chain). A certain, "call a parent" company never even bothered to call back to schedule, after having phoned a corporate call center. So, the fact that I can call the business where technician and owners are based off of is the best.
With all that said, at the end of the day, it all comes down to "how much". Based on my research of my area (Greenville), neighbors who've gotten a mini-split installed in the past, and reddit forums... the quote I received was within the expected cost. Maybe, more so towards below the median cost for my type of job. It's hard to gauge on my data set, given that I need to take account to inflation and just the overall cost rises from political and labor demand parameters, but I didn't have time to get so many quotes to get a concrete price range.Anyways, the price was better than corporate owned/chains, but not the cheapest. I like where Home Service Nerds sit in this spectrum. While not the cheapest, for the cost paid for the work and the backing of a stable business for both warranty and piece of mind (not going anywhere any time soon), I'd say they are one of the better/best value in my area. Definitely keeping Zach's business card for the future.
