We’re a group of nerds, but you probably guessed that already. And even though the term “nerd” may have given people a bad rap in high school, here we see being a nerd about HVAC as a good thing.
Everyone on our team nerds out about HVAC in one way or another. We’ve got our customer service nerd, our installation and repair nerds, our business things nerd and loads of experience.

At Home Service Nerds, we believe that the trades are important to the structure of our country. We want to not only provide a service to our customers but also create a place where our team wants to work.
Sure there will be days that aren’t amazing, but we strive to make those few and far between. Our hot, South Carolina summers paired with attics make that hard sometimes. But there is typically a glass of ice-cold tea somewhere close.
We work on the fix it right the first time principle and alwys try our best to put the best interest of our customer ahead of our company’s revenue.

HVAC Technician
Description of Role
Installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Growth Opportunities!- We are always looking for our next Technical Rockstar (Nerd)!
- Minimum 2 years of field experience needed for the right candidate.
- Continued Advanced Training provided and we never stop learning here.
- Flex schedules available with True Emergency On-call only.
- Bonus Tool Account for your tools and gear, with uniform shirts provided.
- Must have a good driving record with DMV and pass background screening.

General Accountabilities
- Inspects HVAC systems.
- Performs regularly scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems.
- Installs HVAC systems.
- Diagnoses and corrects problems in HVAC systems.
- Tests electrical circuits and components for continuity.
- Tests pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks.
- Joins pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source.
- Reassembles and tests equipment following repairs.
- Repairs or replaces defective equipment, components, or wiring.
- Obtains and maintains required certifications.
- Installs, connects, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers.
- Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
- Inspects and tests HVAC systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions.

Job Qualifications
Education:
Completion of HVAC training or apprenticeship programExperience:
Appropriate certifications and/or licensures with minimum 2 years of related experienceSkills
